Terms of Use

Terms of Use — the rules for using ChefQuote.

Non-operative release-candidate template. These are not commercial terms and do not create a customer agreement. The legal entity, service scope, fees, support, privacy terms, governing law, remedies, and acceptance flow require counsel and operator approval before launch.

Effective date: August 8, 2026 Version: 1.2 Applies to: ChefQuote — including the daily read and connected operating views

The short version

Acceptance of these terms

This source page is a drafting aid only. A production service must present an approved agreement through a tested acceptance flow before use can create contractual obligations.

What ChefQuote is

ChefQuote is deterministic decision support for hospitality operators. It helps you audit quotes, estimate costs and labor burden, model margin, read aggregate operating pressure, compare completed actuals, review same-service memory, and rank a short daily action list. It is a calculator and organizer for human judgment — not an accountant, lawyer, payroll service, food-safety authority, or autonomous operator.

Product limitations

ChefQuote's outputs are estimates and models based on the inputs you provide, standard hospitality concepts, and protected product judgment described at the category level on the method page. Its closed-loop memory check uses deterministic protected logic over eligible completed jobs of the same service type; it does not train a model, silently change proprietary logic, or apply a value without an operator action. Structured CSV intake reduces re-entry but does not certify the source: required-field checks, duplicate checks, range checks, and a matching source control total reduce error rather than eliminate it. An unverified PDF layout is held and cannot change records. It cannot guarantee that a job will be profitable, that costs will not change, or that its reads will fit your specific business, market, or local rules. Route and travel estimates rely on a third-party service and may be approximate. Cloud sync depends on network availability and a third-party host. Treat ChefQuote's output as one input to your decision, alongside your own experience and, where appropriate, qualified advisors.

Your inputs and your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, rights, and completeness of everything you enter or upload — costs, rates, menus, schedules, aggregate survey results, client details, actual outcomes, operator decision reasons, crew assessments, and any figures you rely on. You must use pseudonymous worker IDs in schedule imports and must not upload individual survey responses, names, email addresses, free text, special-category data, or content you are not authorised to process. The output is only as good as those inputs. You are also responsible for how you use the results: the prices you quote, the deposits you require, the staffing and scheduling decisions you make, and the way you handle any information about your crew. Accepting, adjusting, or rejecting a memory or import recommendation requires your written reason and remains your decision. ChefQuote does not verify your source system or make decisions for you.

Owner-configurable logic and wording

The account owner can change business-facing daily-read settings, action count, time windows, action explanations, page wording, and authorized review settings. Page Studio also lets an owner change visible copy, browser title, meta description, canonical URL, link labels and destinations, accessibility labels, and image source/alternative text without coding. Proprietary calculation and ranking mechanics remain protected. Saved configuration and page changes require a written reason and create an audit record. A dashboard preview is not active and does not create an audit or daily-history entry.

Changing operating logic can materially change rankings, suppress warnings, produce misleading outputs, or make the product unsuitable for use. The owner is responsible for validating every change before relying on it. A configuration log is traceability, not proof that a change is accurate, lawful, safe, or compliant. Source-level editing is a separate local-folder control for the ChefQuote business owner; a backup and compliance-ledger entry do not replace security, accessibility, calculation, privacy, employment, claims, and legal review before release.

No professional advice

ChefQuote does not provide accounting, tax, legal, payroll, employment, insurance, or food-safety advice, and nothing it outputs should be treated as such. Morale Guard reads are operational prompts, not clinical, medical, or HR determinations about any individual. For decisions with legal, financial, tax, employment, or safety consequences, consult a qualified professional who can account for your specific situation and jurisdiction.

Acceptable use

You agree to use ChefQuote only for lawful business purposes, and not to:

Intellectual property

ChefQuote — including its name, design, page structure, written content, proprietary operating logic, and the Morale Guard model and its calibration — is owned by the ChefQuote operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Using the tool does not transfer any ownership to you. General hospitality concepts such as yield costing, prime cost, target-margin pricing, and similar ideas are standard industry knowledge and are not claimed as proprietary; the specific implementation, presentation, and expression in ChefQuote are. The quotes, documents, and records you create from your own data are yours.

Exports and data responsibility

ChefQuote lets you export proposals, owner packets, and records as copy, print, PDF, Word, or HTML. Once you export, save, print, or send a file, it is under your control and subject to your own systems and policies — including any obligation to protect client or crew information. You are responsible for how exported files are stored, shared, and secured. See the Privacy Policy for how the software itself handles data.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

ChefQuote is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the tool will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its estimates will match actual results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChefQuote and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data, arising out of or relating to your use of ChefQuote — even if advised of the possibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability for any claim relating to the tool will not exceed the amount you paid to use it in the twelve months before the claim (which may be zero).

These limitation-of-liability terms should be reviewed by a licensed attorney before ChefQuote is offered commercially; the enforceability of specific limits varies by jurisdiction.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or to ChefQuote will be subject to the courts located in Ohio, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as ChefQuote develops. When they change, the effective date and version at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the tool after an update means you accept the revised terms.
